America Movil Reportedly Plans to Buy Some Grupo Salinas Colombian Telecom Assets

05:17 AM EDT, 03/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- America Movil ( AMX ) is looking to acquire certain Grupo Salinas telecom operations in Colombia, news outlets reported Thursday.

The company's Claro unit has submitted a "pre-evaluation request" to the Colombian competition authority to potentially integrate its business with Azteca Comunicaciones, including the acquisition of a fiber-optic network, Bloomberg News reported, citing a statement by America Movil ( AMX ).
