America Movil, Telefonica ink non-binding deal for sale of WOM assets

MEXICO CITY, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Mexican

telecommunications giant America Movil, controlled by the family

of tycoon Carlos Slim, announced on Monday that it has signed a

non-binding deal with Spain's Telefonica to explore joint

participation in the sale of WOM assets.

The assets of Chilean carrier WOM and its affiliates are

part of pending bankruptcy proceedings pending in U.S.

bankruptcy court, according to America Movil's statement.
