05:14 AM EDT, 06/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines Group ( AAL ) failed to reach an agreement with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, or AFPA, in the latest round of negotiations held this week, news outlets reported as early as Thursday, citing the union.
Reuters said AFPA represents about 28,000 American Airlines ( AAL ) flight attendants and according to the union, the recent failure to reach a deal brings them closer to a strike. Fox News published a statement from AFPA President Julie Hedrick, saying the company did not offer adequate agreement terms and that the flight attendants will continue the process to secure "economic improvements."
Meanwhile, American Airlines ( AAL ) told Reuters in an emailed statement that it plans to continue negotiations with the union.
American Airlines ( AAL ) and the Association of Professional Flight Attendants did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
