American Airlines Halts US Flights Over Technical Issue; Shares Decline Pre-Bell

07:46 AM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines ( AAL ) initiated a nationwide groundstop due to last almost two hours Tuesday, the US Federal Aviation Administration said, saying the issuance was upon the company's request.

The company told MT Newswires in an emailed statement that its American flights are facing a technical issue and that it is currently working to resolve the problem.

Shares of the airline fell 3.2% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
