03:05 PM EDT, 06/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines Group ( AAL ) Wednesday said it is offering to boost wages for its flight attendants by 17%, effective immediately.
The offer was made by American Airlines ( AAL ) chief executive Robert Isom in a video message to the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, the union representing the company's flight attendants.
The sides are slated to resume talks June 10 but Isom told flight attendants he did not "want another day to go by without increasing [their] pay." The offer also includes a new formula for profit-sharing by the company beginning in 2024, Isom said.
The APFA did not immediately respond to a request from MT Newswires seeking comment.
The union earlier Wednesday said it has opened a strike command center to provide flight attendants with unified messaging and other resources preparing them in the event of a strike.
