Vodafone Idea CEO Ravinder Takkar said the industry needs more tariff hikes and wants the average revenue per user (ARPU) to increase to Rs 250 or higher in the longer term.

The SC refusing the interim relief said that it is guided by the well-settled principle of prima facie case, the balance of convenience, and whether there is any irreparable injury. The court also said that it should be reluctant to grant any interim relief in matters of commercial investments and IPO.

In view of increased demand and unprecedented pressure on domestic coal supplies, Union Power Ministry has directed Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and REC Ltd to take necessary action to arrange short term loans for a period of six months with adequate safeguards, for ICB (imported coal based power) plants which are under stress or in NCLT (national company law tribunal), at the earliest.

The Jharkhand government has suspended mining secretary Pooja Singhal with immediate effect under the provisions of All India Services (Discipline and Appeal Rules, 1969) after her arrest by ED. The ED had alleged that irregularities were found in the accounts of the schemes while she served as the deputy commissioner and district magistrate of Chatra, Khunti, and Palamu between 2007 and 2013.
