09:36 AM EDT, 04/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Airlines ( AAL ) reported a Q1 adjusted loss Thursday of $0.34 per diluted share, swinging from earnings of $0.05 a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $0.29.
Revenue for the quarter ended March 31 was $12.57 billion, up from $12.19 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $12.58 billion.
The company said it expects Q2 adjusted diluted EPS between $1.15 and $1.45. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $1.15.
Adjusted diluted earnings per share for the current year are still projected to be between $2.25 and $3.25, the company said. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $2.32.
The company's shares were down more than 2% in recent Thursday trading.
