08:32 AM EDT, 10/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Axle & Manufacturing ( AXL ) said Monday that its merger with British company Dowlais received unconditional clearance from the European Commission.

The clearance was issued Oct. 1, satisfying the EU Antitrust Condition, American Axle said.

The company said it projects the combination to close in Q1 of 2026, with clearance in Brazil expected in early November, clearance in Mexico in Q4, and clearance in China in late 2025 or early 2026.

Shares were up 1.8% in recent premarket activity.
