09:01 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Battery Technology ( ABAT ) said Tuesday it has been selected for a $1 million collaborative agreement by the US Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory ReCell Center to develop its lithium hydroxide manufacturing technology.

American Battery ( ABAT ) said it has been working to develop technologies that produce a lithium hydroxide product through an electrochemical route that does not require the large-scale consumption and generation of chemical agents or waste materials.

Through the collaboration, American Battery ( ABAT ) said it will use Argonne's particle accelerator in Illinois to develop imaging and characterization techniques to quantify the performance metrics of the electrochemical conversion device.

American Battery ( ABAT ) shares were 1.2% higher in premarket trading.
