09:54 AM EST, 11/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Electric Power ( AEP ) said Wednesday that it has signed long-term agreements with Quanta Services ( PWR ) intended to position American Electric to carry out its previously announced $72 billion capital plan and strengthen the US electric grid.

The collaboration includes a Cooperation and Commitment Agreement for jointly designing, engineering, procuring and constructing 765-kilovolt and other high-voltage transmission facilities to enhance grid reliability, and a Development Services Agreement to expand US manufacturing capacity for extra-high-voltage transformers and circuit breakers.

Shares of American Electric Power ( AEP ) were up 0.3%, while Quanta's rose 1.5% in recent Wednesday trading.
