Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $3.29.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $16.64 billion, compared with $15.38 billion a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $16.65 billion.

The company raised its 2024 EPS guidance to now be $13.75 to $14.05 from the prior outlook of $13.30 to $13.80. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $13.28.

Meanwhile, American Express ( AXP ) reiterated its revenue growth guidance for the year at around 9%. Analysts polled by Capital IQ expect $66 billion.
