American Express Reports Preliminary June Consumer Card Net Write-Off Rate of 2.1%

11:37 AM EDT, 07/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Express ( AXP ) said Tuesday the preliminary net write-off rate for US consumer card loans was 2.1% in June, the same as in May.

The net write-off rate for US small business card loans increased to 2.6% in June from 2.4% in May, the company said in a regulatory filing that provided preliminary figures for June.

Total US-based consumer and small business card loans fell to $122.7 billion in June from $124 billion in May, the company said.

Shares of American Express ( AXP ) were down over 2% in recent trading Tuesday.
