American Vanguard Pulls Out Dacthal Herbicide Products Registration
Aug 21, 2024 7:43 PM

10:27 AM EDT, 08/21/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Vanguard ( AVD ) said Wednesday it has submitted cancellation requests to the Environmental Protection Agency for all of its federal registrations of its Dacthal herbicide products following the company's April decision to stop selling them.

The company said the registrations are the subject of an Aug. 6 emergency suspension order from the EPA, whose findings are based on one rodent study that showed an effect on fetal rodents at certain dose levels.

"We are working apace with both state and federal authorities to effect product return and to remove Dacthal from channels of distribution," the firm said. "We will now proceed to voluntarily cancel all international registrations as well."
