American Water Works' New Jersey Unit to Acquire Manville Wastewater System

05:21 PM EST, 03/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works ( AWK ) unit New Jersey American Water said late Thursday it agreed to acquire the wastewater collection system of the borough of Manville, New Jersey, for $6.5 million.

The system serves roughly 3,700 customers, according to the company.

New Jersey American said it plans to invest at least $10 million in sewer system improvements in the 10 years following deal completion. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2024.
