04:08 AM EDT, 08/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works ( AWK ) said Tuesday it priced an underwritten offering of around 7 million shares to forward purchasers at $142 apiece.

The shares are expected to be borrowed by the forward purchasers from third parties and sold to underwriters.

The company has granted underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional about 1.1 million shares under the same terms of the offering, which is expected to close on Wednesday.

American Water said it won't receive any proceeds from the sale of shares by the forward purchasers to the underwriters.
