American Water Works Subsidiary to Acquire Water Systems in City of Neosho, Missouri

01:52 PM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works ( AWK ) subsidiary Missouri American Water agreed to buy the water and wastewater systems from the City of Neosho, Missouri, for $34.5 million.

The agreement was submitted to the Missouri Public Service Commission following unanimous approval from the Neosho City Council, Missouri American Water said Wednesday in a statement.

As part of the deal, Missouri American Water plans to invest $35 million in water and wastewater system improvements during the first five years after the acquisition is completed.

The transaction is expected to close in H2 2026, pending a review of six to 12 months by the state regulators, the company said.
