05:03 PM EDT, 06/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- American Water Works' ( AWK ) New Jersey American Water unit said Tuesday it completed the acquisition of the water and wastewater systems of the City of Salem, New Jersey, for $18 million.

The systems serve over 2,300 customers, according to New Jersey American Water.

Under the agreement, New Jersey American Water agreed to invest over $50 million in improvements in the first 10 years.
