08:25 AM EDT, 04/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amerigo Resources ( ARREF ) said Wednesday its copper and molybdenum production fell in the first quarter.
The company produced 13.23 million pounds of copper for the quarter ended March 31 at the Minera Valle Central (MVC) operation in Chile, down from 16 million pounds. Molybdenum production dropped to 240,000 pounds from 320,000 pounds.
Amerigo said the MVC operation completed its annual plant maintenance shutdown during the period, and the pause generates the company's lowest production quarter.
"Operations during the first quarter of 2025 proceeded smoothly, and once again, MVC successfully completed its planned annual plant maintenance shutdown without incident or delay," said Aurora Davidson, Amerigo's president and CEO. "As expected, the fewer operating days had an impact on quarterly production and consequently, on cash cost."
Amerigo said it remains on track to meet its annual production guidance of 62.9 million pounds of copper and 1.3 million pounds of molybdenum.
The company's share price fell 3.7% on Tuesday to $1.57 on the TSX.
