08:06 AM EDT, 08/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amerigo Resources ( ARREF ) said Wednesday that it resumed the processing of fresh tailings at the Minera Valle Central operation in Chile after the restart of the El Teniente underground copper mine.
Operations at Codelco's El Teniente mine had been suspended after a seismic event that killed six workers.
While operations at the mine and the supply of fresh tailings to MVC were suspended, Amerigo said it continued to process historic tailings.
Until operations at El Teniente are normalized, Amerigo said it expects daily throughput from the fresh tailings to be lower than initially forecast in MVC's 2025 production schedule.
"To the extent possible, MVC will mitigate any production impacts by increasing the processing of historic tailings," said Aurora Davidson, Amerigo's president and CEO. "Once we have data on El Teniente's throughput over the next few days, we will provide a production update."
Amerigo's share price gained 2.9% on Tuesday to $2.12 on the TSX.
