Amusement parks restart cautiously; expect 2,000 visitors per day soon, says Wonderla

The entertainment world has been one of the worst-hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic as authorities logically have allowed a restart in a latter phase of unlocking and people are still circumspect about going to places of where a large gathering is likely. Things, however, like for the cinema theatre business, now are starting to look up for the amusement park world.

“Every week we are seeing an improvement in bookings,” said Arun Chittilappily, MD, Wonderla Holidays in an interview with CNBC-TV18. “We will be expecting more than 2,000 visitors a day (soon),” he said.

“We have been open for about a month in Bangalore now. We are averaging about 1,500 visitors a day which is good but we are open only three days a week, which is on weekends,” he said.

“We have a cap of about 4,000 visitors in our park in Bangalore. We will not be allowing more than 4,000 visitors per day,” he said.
