Anfield Energy Receives Utah Approval for Velvet-Wood Uranium Mine Construction

08:58 AM EDT, 10/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Anfield Energy ( AEC ) said it received approval from the Utah Department of Oil, Gas and Mining to begin construction at its Velvet-Wood uranium project in Utah.

The company said the federal Department of the Interior had already cleared the project's environmental permit.

Anfield said it plans to start site mobilization immediately and expects to break ground within 30 days.

Near-term steps include reopening the mine portal, dewatering, building surface facilities, conducting underground inspections, and constructing a new incline into the mine, the company said.
