11:54 AM EDT, 08/12/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ansys' ( ANSS ) acquisition by Synopsys ( SNPS ) is under scrutiny by the UK competition watchdog, which said Monday it is seeking comment from interested parties about the deal.

The UK Competition and Markets Authority is asking interested parties to submit any initial views on the impact of the transaction on competition in the UK.

The regulator said it has not yet opened a formal investigation into the transaction.

Shareholders of Ansys ( ANSS ) approved the transaction in May. The software company expects the deal with Synopsys ( SNPS ), an electronic design automation software provider, to close in the first half of 2025.
