10:40 AM EST, 11/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Amazon ( AMZN )-backed (AMZN) Anthropic said Wednesday it will invest $50 billion in American computing infrastructure, aiming to build custom data centers in Texas and New York, with more sites to come.

The project is expected to create about 800 permanent jobs and 2,400 construction jobs, with sites estimated to come online throughout 2026, the artificial intelligence startup said.

The investment is necessary to meet the growing demand for Claude, Anthropic's family of large language models, from hundreds of thousands of businesses, the company said.
