Aon Receives Approval for Hurricane Model from Florida Commission
Jun 18, 2025 12:58 PM

03:37 PM EDT, 06/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Aon (AON) said Wednesday its upgraded Florida hurricane model was certified by the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology to help insurers assess risks for ratemaking in the state.

The model, which will be released within Impact Forecasting's ELEMENTS 18.1 platform, is part of a broader strategy to support real-time loss estimation, accumulation scenarios, and climate risk assessment projects, the company said.

Insurers can analyze historical hurricane and sea-surface temperature data as well as insights into regional vulnerability and wind mitigation measures to mitigate risks and optimize capital, according to a statement.
