In an unlikely bonanza, Apex Construct, a virtual reality (VR) game has sold more copies in China than it sold in all of 2018.
Thanks to the popular battle royale shooter Apex Legends, which bears both a strikingly similar name and logo.
According to a Reddit post by Andreas from Fast Travel Games, Apex Construct has seen a massive uptick in sales since it was released in March 2018 on Steam back.
As per Andreas, the VR developer saw a 4,000 percent increase in visits to the Apex Construct page since the launch of Apex Legends.
He also explained that the company expects many of these new copies to be refunded after players discover they don’t have Apex Legends.
