07:23 AM EST, 03/06/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Capital Management (APO) and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board's acquisition of joint control of Novolex and Pactiv Evergreen ( PTVE ) was approved by the European Commission, the regulator said Thursday.

The transaction, which primarily concerns the manufacturing of paper and plastic consumer packaging, would not raise competition concerns given the limited combined market position, the European Commission determined.

The transaction was reviewed under the simplified merger review procedure.
