Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $1.72.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $7.77 billion, up from $2.60 billion a year earlier.

Comparable analysts' estimates were not readily available.

The company maintained a quarterly cash dividend of $0.4625 per share, payable on Nov. 29 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 18.
