09:18 AM EST, 01/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management's ( APO ) Apollo Capital Management LP subsidiary has obtained permission to take sole control of Spanish sports company Club Atletico de Madrid, the European Commission said Tuesday.

The acquisition is not expected to cause competition concerns since the companies do not work in the same or linked markets, according to the commission.

The transaction mainly concerns the ownership of the team and its participation in Spanish and international football matches, the commission said.
