Apollo Signs Up to $6.1 Billion Bond Deal With EDF to Support UK Investments

01:42 PM EDT, 06/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apollo Global Management ( APO ) signed an agreement with Electricite de France SA to purchase up to 4.5 billion pounds ($6.1 billion) of bonds through a private placement, helping the utility company finance its UK investments over the next three years, particularly the Hinkley Point C project, EDF said Friday.

The bonds will be issued under EDF's euro medium term note program in three tranches, each with a maximum maturity of 12 years. The first tranche, totaling 1.5 billion pounds, is set to be issued on Thursday.

EDF said it retains the option to issue the remaining tranches in 2026 and 2027.
