Apple Accused of Violating Labor Laws for Allegedly Surveilling Workers' Social Media Posts
Oct 11, 2024 12:28 PM

03:05 PM EDT, 10/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) violated federal labor laws after it terminated an employee who advocated for workplace changes on Slack and monitored the social media posts of other workers, the National Labor Relations Board said Friday.

In a complaint filed Thursday, the agency also alleged that Apple ( AAPL ) maintained unlawful work rules around the acceptable uses of Slack and interrogated employees about speaking with reporters regarding workplace issues.

The agency said it was seeking an order requiring the company to "rescind the unlawful rules, or revise them."

An initial hearing with an administrative judge will be held in February if the parties don't settle, the agency said.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
