03:26 PM EDT, 09/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) on Monday announced a new iPhone line up at its Glowtime event.
The iPhone 16 will come in four variants: the base model, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Pricing for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will start from $799 and $899 with the iPhone 16 Pro beginning at $999 and the Pro Max at $1,199.
Apple ( AAPL ) Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said the phones were designed for Apple Intelligence from the ground up.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be powered using the company's latest custom silicon A18 built to run large generative models. Apple ( AAPL ) said the A18 CPU was 30% faster than its predecessor and can run machine learning models twice as fast than the processor powering its iPhone 15s.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will be powered using the A18 Pro with a 15% faster CPU than the previous generation, Apple ( AAPL ) said. The phones will run the latest iOS version, iOS 18, the company added.
The company also unveiled Apple Watch Series 10 with a larger display and almost 10% thinner than previous generations.
Pricing will start at $399, Apple ( AAPL ) said.
Apple ( AAPL ) also debuted the AirPods 4 with a base model that would retail at $129 and another to support active noise cancellation for $179.
All products, including the new iPhones, will be available in stores starting Sept. 20, Apple ( AAPL ) said.
Apple ( AAPL ) shares fell 1% in recent Monday trading.
