12:02 PM EST, 12/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) asked a federal district court Monday to be added as a defendant in Alphabet's (GOOG) Google's ( GOOG ) antitrust case regarding online search.

"Google ( GOOG ) cannot represent Apple's ( AAPL ) interests at this stage," Apple ( AAPL ) said in a filing. "By proposing remedies that go well beyond the [information service agreement], plaintiffs' [proposed final judgement] implicates concerns unique to Apple ( AAPL )."

"Google ( GOOG ) will necessarily have to choose where to focus its arguments and resources as this court crafts a remedy," Apple ( AAPL ) said.
