Apple Expands Partnership With Corning With $2.5 Billion Manufacturing Deal

05:52 AM EDT, 08/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) said Wednesday it has expanded its partnership with Corning (GLW) with a new $2.5 billion commitment for the production of all the cover glass for its iPhone and Apple Watch products at Corning's manufacturing facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

With this expanded partnership, Corning will dedicate its entire Harrodsburg facility to manufacturing for Apple ( AAPL ) and is expected to increase its Kentucky manufacturing and engineering workforce by 50%.

The partners are also planning to open a new Apple-Corning Innovation Center at the plant.

Apple ( AAPL ) said the deal with Corning is part of its larger investment commitment in the US. The company said it has added $100 billion to this commitment, with a total planned investment of $600 billion in the US over the next four years.

Shares of Apple ( AAPL ) rose more than 3%, while Corning added more than 6% in recent pre-bell activity Thursday.
