09:14 AM EDT, 10/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) faces a complaint filed with European Union regulators by two organizations accusing it of breaching antitrust rules, the two groups said Wednesday.

The organizations, Article 19 and Germany's Society for Civil Rights, said in their complaint the business terms and conditions for its Apple's ( AAPL ) App Store, iOS, and iPadOS operating systems impede interoperability between Apple ( AAPL ) devices and tools made by third-party developers.

The complaint notes an Apple ( AAPL ) requirement for 1 million euro ($1.2 million) letters of credit required from developers who want to develop apps that "effectively exclude smaller providers from Apple's ( AAPL ) operating systems," the organizations said.

The groups urged the European Commission to "take appropriate steps to put an end to Apple's ( AAPL ) continuing non-compliance" with the Digital Markets Act.

Apple ( AAPL ) and the European Commission did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
