Apple Must Lift In-App Payment Restrictions, Brazilian Antitrust Regulator Rules
Nov 26, 2024 4:15 AM

06:58 AM EST, 11/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) must lift restrictions on payment methods for in-app purchases, among other antitrust remedies, Brazil's antitrust regulator Cade said late Monday.

The ruling allows an investigation on a complaint filed by e-commerce company MercadoLibre against Apple ( AAPL ), alleging that the iPhone maker makes it difficult for third-party developers to offer apps on iOS devices.

Apple ( AAPL ) and MercadoLibre did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
