Apple Reportedly Picks Alibaba for AI Integration in China
Feb 13, 2025 3:44 AM

06:22 AM EST, 02/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) plans to incorporate Alibaba Group's ( BABA ) AI technology into its devices, multiple news outlets reported Thursday, citing Alibaba ( BABA ) Chairman Joseph Tsai's announcement during the World Government Summit.

No financial information was disclosed.

The partnership will reportedly help Apple ( AAPL ) compete with local companies, but Tsai did not specify whether Alibaba ( BABA ) would be Apple's ( AAPL ) sole AI provider.

The media outlets added that Tsai noted that Apple's ( AAPL ) compliance with local regulations requires partnerships with accredited Chinese firms, which he expects to continue for the foreseeable future.

Neither Alibaba ( BABA ) nor Apple ( AAPL ) immediately responded to MT Newswires' request for comment.

AliBaba's ( BABA ) shares were up 1% in recent Thursday premarket activity.
