07:04 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) has pledged to increase investment in China and boost cooperation with the Asian country, news outlets reported Wednesday, citing a post by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The US technology giant's chief executive, Tim Cook, made the commitment during a meeting with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng, the agency reportedly said in a post on its official WeChat account.

Li called on the iPhone maker to work closely with local suppliers, while Cook said the company will increase cooperation with China, according to the report.

Apple ( AAPL ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
