05:29 AM EST, 12/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) has been sued over allegations that it unlawfully monitors employees' mobile phones and iCloud accounts, news outlets reported late Monday, citing a court document.

A complaint filed in a California state court Sunday by employee Amar Bhakta said the company obliges workers to grant it access to their email, photos, health data, and personal information on personal devices they use for work, according to Reuters.

The suit also alleged the company demands that employees refrain from discussing working conditions on podcasts and social media and engage in protected whistleblowing activities, the reports said.

Apple ( AAPL ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
