01:49 PM EST, 02/26/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) said its iPhone and iPad devices have been certified to handle classified data under NATO's information-assurance requirements without requiring the need for special software or settings.

Devices running iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 are approved for use with classified information up to the NATO restricted level in all member nations, following extensive testing and evaluation by Germany's Federal Office for Information Security, Apple ( AAPL ) said Thursday in a statement on its website.

Apple ( AAPL ) said the products are "the first consumer devices approved for use with classified information in NATO restricted environments."
