Apr 3, 2025 3:21 AM

06:02 AM EDT, 04/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) shares fell 7% in recent premarket activity Thursday after President Donald Trump announced heavy tariffs on imported goods that targeted countries vowed to counter.

The iPhone maker is particularly vulnerable to tariffs on China, which is at the heart of its supply chain and will be hit with 54% in total tariffs, media outlets reported.

Other countries within Apple's ( AAPL ) supply chain are also targeted by tariffs. India, where Apple ( AAPL ) is building iPhones and AirPods, is getting a 26% reciprocal tariff. Vietnam, where it makes AirPods, iPads, Apple Watches and Macs, will be under a 46% tariff, according to the reports.

Meanwhile, Malaysia and Thailand, where Apple ( AAPL ) makes some Macs, will have 24% and 36% tariffs, respectively, the reports said. Ireland, where Apple ( AAPL ) also produces some iMacs, will be subject to 20% European Union tariffs.
