05:59 AM EDT, 09/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) shares were up by more than 3% in recent Wednesday premarket activity after a US federal judge let Google ( GOOG ) retain its exclusive contracts related to the distribution of Google Search and Google's ( GOOG ) AI offerings, according to a ruling by US District Judge Amit Mehta for the District of Columbia on Tuesday.

The ruling lets Alphabet's Google ( GOOG ) keep control of its Chrome browser and Android system while restricting certain exclusive contracts with device makers and browser developers, the court said.

This allows Google ( GOOG ) to continue paying partners such as Apple ( AAPL ) to feature its search engine, the US court said.
