06:57 AM EDT, 05/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) supplier Foxconn will invest about 127.74 billion Indian rupees ($1.49 billion) in its India unit, the company said in a London Stock Exchange filing on Monday.
Foxconn's Singapore-based subsidiary will buy about 12.77 billion shares worth 10 rupees apiece in Yuzhan Technology India, the filing showed.
Yuzhan Technology India is Foxconn's unit in Tamil Nadu, which manufactures electronic components and assembles Apple's ( AAPL ) iPhones, according to Reuters.
The investment comes as the iPhone maker is trying to shift manufacturing out of China in response to US President Donald Trump's recent tariffs.
