11:44 AM EDT, 10/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple ( AAPL ) said Monday it has launched a new iMac featuring the M4 chip and the Apple Intelligence software, promising performance boosts of up to 1.7x for daily tasks and 2.1x for photo editing and other workflows compared with the previous M1 model.

The updated iMac features a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, a new 12MP central camera and starts at $1,299 in the US, the iPhone maker said.

The new iMac is available for pre-order from Monday, with availability beginning on Nov. 8, Apple ( AAPL ) said.

Apple ( AAPL ) shares were up nearly 1% in recent trading.
