Apr 23, 2024 5:19 AM

07:49 AM EDT, 04/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) iPhone sales in China fell 19.1% year over year during the quarter ended in March, marking its worst quarterly performance there since 2020, according to a report by Counterpoint.

At 15.7%, Apple ( AAPL ) fell to third in China market share behind Vivo's 17.4% and Honor's 16.1%. Huawei sales jumped 69.7% as it moved to fourth in market share at 15.5%.

"Apple's ( AAPL ) sales were subdued during the quarter as Huawei's comeback has directly impacted Apple ( AAPL ) in the premium segment. Besides, the replacement demand for Apple ( AAPL ) has been slightly subdued compared to previous years," said Ivan Lam, senior research analyst at Counterpoint, in the report.
