07:03 AM EDT, 09/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's ( AAPL ) hypertension alerts feature on its recently launched Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration, according to media reports.

The software update will begin rolling out on Sept. 15, according to the reports.

Earlier this week, Apple ( AAPL ) introduced its latest smartwatches, along with its latest AirPods Pro 3, its iPhone 17 and iPhone Air.

According to the company, the feature uses the optical heart rate sensor at the back of the smartwatch to measure the interaction of heartbeats and blood vessels.

The company said the Apple Watch Series 11 will be available beginning Sept. 19.
