Foxconn Technology Group, a major supplier to Apple Inc, is set to start trial production of the latest iPhones in India in a few weeks, reported Bloomberg.
The trial production, aimed at reviving Apple’s fortunes in the country, will commence before Foxconn starts full-scale assembly at its factory outside Chennai, the report said citing people familiar with the matter.
According to the report, older models of the brand such as the iPhone 6s, iPhone SE and iPhone 7 are already being produced by Wistron Corp. at a plant in Bangalore.
The development comes as the tech giant hopes to improve its fortune in India, one of the prime smartphone markets in the globe.
