03:18 PM EDT, 08/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Applied Materials ( AMAT ) said it has received subpoena from the US Department of Justice seeking information on its applications for federal grants and that it is fully cooperating in such matter.
In a regulatory filing on Thursday, the semiconductor chipmaker said the DOJ request also includes information that it submitted to the federal government.
The company's application for grant for a $4 billion research and development facility in California under the US Chips and Science Act has reportedly been rejected by the government.
The matter was reported earlier by Bloomberg News.
The company's shares were down more than 2% in recent trading.
