04:16 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Applied Materials ( AMAT ) said late Tuesday it will work with GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) to set up a waveguide fabrication facility at GlobalFoundries' ( GFS ) Singapore project to support the growing use of photonics in artificial intelligence technologies.

Applied Materials ( AMAT ) will develop waveguide components, with GlobalFoundries ( GFS ) as its high-volume manufacturing partner in that market, the company said.
