Applied Optoelectronics Gets $71 Million Order for 800G Transceivers; Shares Rise After Hours

04:51 PM EDT, 04/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Applied Optoelectronics ( AAOI ) received a $71 million order for 800G single-mode data center transceivers from an undisclosed major hyperscale customer.

The customer has placed $124 million in orders since mid-March, Applied Optoelectronics ( AAOI ) said Thursday in a statement.

The company expects to begin delivering both the initial order totaling $53 million and the new order in Q2, with the first order completing in Q3 and the latest order by year-end, the company said.

Applied Optoelectronics ( AAOI ) shares rose 4.5% in after-hours trading after jumping 20% in the regular session.
