10:39 AM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Ardagh Metal Packaging's ( AMBP ) European unit said Wednesday it signed a 12-year virtual power purchase agreement with BNZ in Portugal, which will start in 2026.

The deal will secure 146 gigawatt hours of renewable electricity certificates annually, which is expected to offset about 50% of Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe's continental energy consumption, the company said.

Schneider Electric supported Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe in the project selection and deal negotiation, it said.
